125 Bursary Appeal

Each year the college awards scholarships and bursaries worth more than £1 million to children who will benefit from what the school has to offer.

Bursaries have always played an important part in the school’s commitment to providing a first-class education for as many promising pupils as our resources will allow. We are committed to equality of opportunity, to engendering inclusivity and diversity.

Up until now we have relied solely on our own financial resources to support our assisted places.  Bursaries are means-tested and awarded on an annual basis to parents who satisfy the financial criteria as set by the school.

We believe Worksop College is at its greatest when we are a diverse school, one with a healthy social mix and a breadth of talent, character, and backgrounds. Our ability to offer bursaries lies at the heart of this and our aim is to grow the bursary fund into a sustainable source of funding that will support a greater number of deserving, passionate and talented pupils on bursary places for years to come.

We have long believed that financial circumstances should not limit access to the wide opportunities that an education at our school brings. Bursaries can change lives and provide opportunities for talented, hard-working children to realise their potential, regardless of their financial situations.

Our vision as a school is clear; to support, encourage and challenge - creating exceptional people who leave our Christian community with confidence, resilience and humility. We believe that every young person has the right to develop their full potential.

As we celebrate our 125th year our aspirations are to raise £125,000 in the first year, offering one full transformational bursary place.
