Legacies

Legacies play a vital role in providing for the long-term security of pupil bursaries and we are very grateful to legators for helping us plan for the long-term future of the school.

Legacies play a vital role in providing for the long-term security of pupil bursaries at Worksop College. We understand that decisions concerning your will are very personal and your family will be your first priority. We hope that you might consider supporting future generations of pupils by remembering Worksop College in your will.

Worksop College is a charity and a legacy left to the Trust would be exempt from inheritance tax. If you leave 10% or more of your estate to charity, the inheritance tax on the remainder of your estate is reduced from 40% to 36%.

If you have already made a will and would like to add a bequest to Worksop College, you can do this through a Codicial Form, which should be kept along with the original version of your will.

When making a bequest in your will, please note that the beneficiary should be Worksop College, registered charity number 1103326.

You may wish to support a specific area of Worksop College and we will always honour your wishes. If you do not specify anything, bequests will be used by the Foundation to meet the school’s top priorities which, for the foreseeable future, will be transformational bursaries.

Making a will is an important step and it is recommended that you seek the advice of a solicitor. If you would like to discuss any particular legacy requests to Worksop College in confidence, please contact Lucy Smithson on l.smithson@wsnl.co.uk or 01909 537100. Alternatively, should you wish to talk to us in person, we would be delighted to meet you.
