It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Trevor in October 2023.

Trevor joined the College in 1987, having already had a distinguished career in the RAF where he rose to the rank of Squadron Leader and served in the Falklands.

Trevor was one of the most respected members of staff, by both colleagues and pupils and I know that Howard Jackson was delighted to have such a supportive, dedicated and competent teacher in the Physics Department.

Trevor was fully involved in all aspects of College life including as a house tutor and a sports coach, but perhaps his main extra-curricular contribution was in VSL which he chose in preference to the CCF. Maybe he thought that he had spent enough time in uniform.

Many ex-colleagues are grateful to Trevor for his role as Chairman of the SCR following the departure of Neil Simmonds. Trevor was always keen to do what he could in this role to support his fellow teachers and to argue their case.

When he retired, Trevor and his wife left Bawtry and moved to a lovely farm house in a tiny village near to Helston. They loved Cornwall so much that they rarely left the county and Trevor continued his natural inclination of service by being a coastguard on the Lizard Peninsula for many years.

A true gentleman, and a man of stature in both senses of the word.
